Fargo Police investigating woman’s death as possible overdose
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A woman is dead and Fargo Police is investigating what lead up to it.
Police were called to the 2600 block of Pacific Dr. S. Wednesday evening shortly after 6:30 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive female. Shortly after arriving on scene, first responders declared the woman had passed away.
Initial scanner traffic from the incident stated the woman was suffering from an overdose, which Fargo Police confirm it’s investigating. Detectives are waiting for the woman’s toxicology reports to be completed.
Just last week, Fargo Police reported an uptick in overdoses, many of them fatal.
Officials say warning signs of an overdose include grey or blue fingertips, unresponsiveness and snoring or gurgling. They add individuals are encouraged to administer Narcan, if available, to reverse the effects of an overdose and to immediately call 911 if an overdose is suspected.
