MSUM boasts new enrollment numbers as students move in
A fresh crop of students arrived at Minnesota State University-Moorhead Thursday morning. The excitement of move-in day mirrored some proud statistics from the university.
According to school officials, enrollment this year is up around 3.5%.
"It's a mixed blessing. It's a mixed blessing of, she's onto a new journey and she needs to know what life is like outside of the home."
Valerie Hanson, like many parents, are feeling the effects of move in day.
She had to navigate the sea of carts, laundry baskets, and shower caddy's, to settle in her first off to college, Lauren.
Hanson’s thought’s as she settled Lauren into her dorm at Dahl Hall, "First and foremost, out of the house. Second of all, it's just a new step in her life so it will be fine."
MSUM officials say online and graduate student enrollment has doubled this year. The school is also seeing an increase in students coming to the school from the Fargo Moorhead area.
